Our Bodies Are Our Temples: Spreading Love Foundation Serves Hundreds of Families in East Tremont

At Spreading Love, we live by the belief that our bodies are our temples and must be cared for with intention and love.

On July 24 on the streets of East Tremont and Washington Avenue, we put that belief into action. We hosted a health-focused Food Distribution and Resource Fair, bringing wellness directly to where our community lives.

Too often, families have to travel far to find help. Our goal was to reverse that to bring the resources to them.

In partnership with incredible community organizations, we were able to serve hundreds of people with free fresh produce, groceries, and vital health information.

The day included:
- Free Distribution of fresh produce and groceries
- Live Healthy Cooking Demonstrations by professional chefs
- Nutritional Workshops on how to prepare healthy, affordable meals
- Youth Engagement including rock climbing and other wellness activities
- A Resource Fair connecting residents to free, essential local services

This impact would not have been possible without our dedicated partners:

Black Health, Morning Star Church, Project Food Box, NYC Poison Center, PARC, MHC, NY Connect, True Care, Gotham Food Pantry, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, Food Bank For NYC, and the NYPD.

Thank you to every chef, volunteer, partner, and neighbor who showed up with love. Together, we not only fed families, but we educated and empowered our community.
