Simple Actions, Big Impact: Clean Water Changes Everything at Weep Not Child Orphanage

Ahwerase Daman, Ghana — Last year, during a donation visit to Weep Not Child Orphanage, the children told us their biggest need in one word: water.

For them, clean water isn’t a convenience. It’s survival. Every glass of safe drinking water, every chance to wash hands, and every meal cooked hygienically can mean the difference between sickness and health.

Before now, the children walked long distances daily just to fetch water. It was exhausting. It stole time from school, play, and rest. And it put their health at risk every single day.

That’s why we drilled a borehole.

This isn’t just a water source. It’s a lifeline.
Health: Clean water now protects 40+ children from waterborne diseases.
Dignity: No more missing class to queue for water. No more unsafe alternatives.
Hope: With their basic needs met, these children can focus on being kids — learning, growing, dreaming.

The Investment: ₵28,900.00 GHS [$2,500 USD]
For ₵28,900.00 GHS, Spreading Love Foundation fully funded and completed the borehole — covering drilling, pump installation, storage tank, and community training. That’s less than ₵2 per day, per child, to provide safe water for the next 10+ years.

Maa Obenewaa, the mother of Weep Not Child Foundation, couldn’t hide her gratitude. With tears in her eyes, she thanked Spreading Love Foundation and appealed for support in other areas the children still need.

Why boreholes matter?

Across Ghana, 1 in 5 people lack access to safe water. Our borehole drilling initiatives tackle this crisis at its source. By providing sustainable, community-owned water, we don’t just give a drink — we give communities the power to thrive.

Each well we drill becomes a beacon of hope. A permanent solution in a world of temporary fixes.

This is just the beginning.
One borehole at Weep Not Child Orphanage. Dozens more communities still waiting.

You can turn on the tap of hope today.
₵580 [$50] provides clean water for 1 child for a year.
₵5,800 [$500] funds maintenance to keep a borehole flowing.
₵92,800 [$8,000] funds a complete borehole for a new community.

Together, we can turn the tide of the water crisis.
